2026-10-18 Morning Report: Gold and Silver Night Session Rebound, Crude Oil Geopolitical Premium Dominates, Black Series Divergence Continues

A strong US dollar and active long-position reduction ahead of CPI drove a collective pullback in precious and non-ferrous metals, but the night session saw a geopolitical premium repair in crude oil and some black-series commodities, creating a divergent sector pattern. Gold, if it breaks below the 897.24 support, will target 870; if it holds above 905, it may recover to 915. Silver, with higher volatility, if it breaks below 13821.00 will target 13200; if it holds above 13946.67, it may rise to 14200. Crude oil in the night session was supported by geopolitical premium and closed at 739.8; WTI broke through $100, SC if it holds above 741 may target 760, if it breaks below 695 it will retest 675; black series diverged, rebar if it loses 3054 will target 3020, hot-rolled coil if it rebounds to 3257 and meets resistance will target 3220.
